New Portable Traffic Light PTL-3 Type-1
At the forefront of Queensland traffic equipment, we have just released our portable traffic light PTL-3 Type-1, portable traffic signal system (PTSS), to ensure traffic controllers are safer during roadworks and civil works Australia-wide. LDC Equipment’s new portable traffic light can be set-up and managed by a single operator positioned off-road. Portable traffic light designed to Queensland TMR specifications
LDC Equipment’s Type 1 portable traffic light has been designed and manufactured to Queensland Transport & Main Roads (TMR) standard MRTS264, due to changes to their road safety laws and legislation in 2018. The new safety standard requires traffic controllers to stand off-road, out of harms way, when managing traffic on roads posted at 80kph and higher, with traffic of up to 100,000 vehicles or more per day. This was introduced to replace the Stop/Go paddles that were traditionally used for this purpose. While the initiative was rolled out by Queensland TMR, it will soon apply to all other states when Austroads harmonises these safety standards.
Radio remote controller for simple and easy operation
Our portable traffic light can be programmed simply and easily using a dual purpose radio remote controller. The radio remote controller allows programming of single sets, as well as pairing for multiple sets of PTL-3 Type-1 traffic lights. With a long-life lithium (LiFePO4) battery, the portable traffic light can operate for up to 16 hours per charge. It can also be recharged using mains power, a battery charger or a 12 volt or 24 volt vehicle. A back-up battery is available offering an additional charge of 50 hours on request.
