LDC Equipment was proud to exhibit at this year’s National Road and Traffic Expo at the ICC Sydney.

The Expo had its annual event on October 11-12th. The purpose of the event is to put on display a range of the latest products, solutions, and accessories that promote excellence in infrastructure delivery. The Expo allowed many different companies from different sectors in the road and traffic industry, such as civil construction, traffic management, road maintenance, and more.

Expos can be an exciting way to bring many people and groups who belong under the same industry umbrella into the same room. In this case, the entire road transport ecosystem, the event was a great opportunity to grow and learn about your selected industry, to learn about the latest trends, or to shared insights with your fellow colleagues.

Some key aspects of this year’s expo include:

  • Different Exhibits: It did not matter that all the companies there were under the same industry umbrella; each of the booths was different and customised to the individual brand.
  • Networking: One of the main reasons to attend the Expo, whether as an exhibitor, visitor, or speaker, is to network. To have in-person interactions and to gain insight and information that you would not gain anywhere else.
  • Practical, not theory: A great learning curve for all those who attend. Expos provide a great opportunity to have a hands-on approach with some of your products. Instead of just looking at or watching a demonstration, many of our visitors were given the chance to use our equipment to see for themselves how efficient it is.
  • Education: At this year’s event, there were several seminars and panel discussions that were open to anyone. Reaching a diverse range of topics. There was something for everyone. LDC Equipment attends several, including one concerning road safety.
  • Staying Modern: The road and traffic industries are growing in a fast-paced world. These events can be helpful in learning about the latest trends.
  • Inspire: Expos can be a great way to be inspired by the efforts of others. LDC was especially impressed with the layout of other companies’ booths. In future events, we may need to live up to the design elements.
  • Fun: While these events are for professional purposes, they can also offer moments of fun and entertainment. Whether it be the performances, prize giveaways, canteen, creative booths, enjoyable interactions, and more.

The products that LDC Equipment had on display at this year’s event were:

1) Happy Harry Speed Sign

Our Happy Harry Speed Signs detect and record the speed of each vehicle as it travels towards the sign, displaying a corresponding message visible for the driver to see. Also, our Australian engineers have designed these messages to display either a ‘smiley’ or ‘sad face’ depending on whether the vehicle is travelling at the correct speed or over-speed. In addition, a speed limit sign can be displayed to inform drivers about a change in the speed limit.

These units are effective because:

  • Reduces the speed of traffic by creating awareness among drivers.
  • The public is more aware.
  • Prevents danger in high-risk locations.
  • Increases safety for all drivers on the road and pedestrians.
  • Prevents potential incidents in high-risk areas.
  • Cost-effective solution for areas prone to speeding.
  • Drivers are likely to modify their behaviour when receiving real-time information.
  • Data Collection

2) Portable Traffic Light (Tripod-Mounted)

This unit offers improved safety for traffic controllers over the traditional Stop/Go sign and meets all Australian standards. Designed and manufactured in Australia, the Portable Traffic Light is lightweight, compact and has long battery life. The unit is very easy to transport and set up, requiring only one operator.

These units are essential because:

  • Can be set up and transported to any location needed.
  • Increase the safety of traffic controllers. Getting them off the road and away from any potential hazards.
  • Run on batteries.
  • Easy-to-use remote control.

3) Indoor Advertising Displays

Our indoor advertising boards are effective in displaying a company, products, services, events, specials, and more. It is easy to use to display any media one desires, such as photos, videos, graphics, fonts, and even a QR code that can be scanned.

The boards can be used for various applications, such as:

The TL-400 Portable Light Tower is a one-man-operated portable electric pole light tower. It is portable, like a work light, but has a similar output to a light tower. Higher and brighter than traditional handheld work lights, cheaper and easier to move around than traditional light towers. It is useful for several locations and purposes, such as emergencies, infrastructure, railways, events, maintenance, mining, sports, construction, and more.

These units are effective because:

  • Can be transported from different locations easily.
  • The light height is adjustable to suit any need or requirement.
  • Lighting Area of 1100 m²
  • Designed to work outside in different weather conditions. Has tripod legs for extra support.
